:Our client in Calgary is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant I to join their dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will have experience with SAP and possess intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel. This role is perfect for a professional who is looking to grow their career in accounting within a supportive and collaborative environment.Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
• Perform general ledger accounting tasks including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
• Perform various accounting functions, including data entry, report generation, and system maintenance.
• Conduct account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and support.
• Maintain accurate and organized records of financial transactions.
• Support the senior accounting staff with special projects and ad-hoc reporting as needed.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:Qualifications:

• Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably within a corporate environment.
• Proficiency with SAP is required.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including functions, formulas, and data analysis tools.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
• Available to start immediately.
