Accountant, Corporate Accounting (vancouver)

Job Description

You will

  • Handle full-cycle accounting for corporate entities
  • Prepare multi-level consolidated and non-consolidated financial statements and ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal procedures for corporate entities
  • Prepare and analyze working papers for corporate entities, ensuring that financial information provided is timely and relevant for effective decision making
  • Prepare and review partnership equity interest calculation
  • Track and reconcile intercompany and other accounts
  • Prepare financial statement analysis
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and assist with electronic banking administration as required
  • Review the monthly and annual GST returns
  • Mentor and develop junior team members by providing support and guidance
  • Evaluate, develop, implement and document improvements to accounting procedures and systems to maximize efficiency and quality in the accounting group
  • Research, prepare and review technical accounting analysis and accounting issues for compliance with accountant standards
  • Assist in the year-end financial audit
  • Support financial systems improvement initiatives including ERP systems conversions
  • Assist and provide support on property tax administration and municipal property tax filing.
  • Liaise and communicate with other department to obtain required information on property
  • Ad-hoc analysis and projects as required
You have
  • Experience working for a complex multi-entity organization, including exposure to consolidated financial statements
  • A CPA designation (an asset)
  • Strong understanding of ASPE, experience with REALpac (an asset)
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Great people skills, able to relate well to others and state your case
  • Real Estate industry experience (an asset)
