The Accountant is responsible for supporting the execution of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury and General Accounting functions as well as related accounting tasks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounts Payable:Support processing of vendor invoices, employee expense reports and property related contractual obligations for payment and posting into accounting system
Support processing of remittance and posting into accounting system
Support processing of payments
Accounts Receivable:Prepare and process sales invoices and post into accounting system
Support processing of receipts
Treasury:Perform daily cash reconciliations
Prepare outstanding cheque listing
General Accounting:Support month-end and year-end close process
Assist with external audits
Overall:Assist with ad-hoc tasks
Support various projects on an as needed basis
Maintain inquisitive mindset and identify opportunities for improvement to process
Provide support to and maintain a positive working relationship with all departments to build positive employee attitudes and morale.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS
1-3 years of work experience in accounts payable/receivable and general accounting
University degree in accounting, finance or related field
Good knowledge of accounting principles
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP (preferred)
Ability to successfully prioritize and multi-task
High level of integrity, confidentially, accountability, and teamwork
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present analysis and finding in both verbal and written format
Demonstrated ability to take initiative and anticipate future needs
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain strong relationships with relevant business teams
Highly motivated and proactive.
