Job Title Account Officer, Special Loans




































What is the Opportunity? RBC\xe2\x80\x99s Special Loans & Advisory Services (SLAS) Group is looking for an Account Officer to join their team, supporting account managers in Head Office & Business Markets. The Account Officer will serve as a first point of contact for account managers and assists in the day-to-day management of the area, proactively creating capacity by adapting effective workflow systems & processes, platform technology and organizational change initiative focused on Special Loans and Advisory Services (SLAS) What will you do?

  • Responsible for most operational, credit, and administrative management of client files
  • Ensure completeness, accuracy, and consistency of process in the on-boarding of new clients transferred from the field, reporting loan exposures and balances, and tracking cash flows related to write-off and recoveries
  • Act as primary contact for clients\xe2\x80\x99 non-lending service needs, often by coordinating a solution through external partners
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency in BRR, BCC, LGD, authorized and outstanding amounts, FX rates, etc. between SLAS\xe2\x80\x99 Advice for Credit Undertaking system and Synergy CCRs
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting to SLAS Sr. Manager and Director of Ops. & Management Information Systems
  • Gather and prepare information/spreadsheets & material required by SLAS Senior Manager/managers for reports, presentations, meeting, etc.
  • Exercise due diligence in the following of procedures relative to fraud prevention, account opening process, anti-money laundering etc. as outlined in folio instructions and guidelines
  • Correct data integrity as instructed by managers within established timeframe on exception reports produced on a monthly basis. Overall responsibility for integrity of records
What do you need to succeed? Must-have
  • Self-driven with capability of managing multiple priorities
  • Ability to take ownership/responsibility for issues and follow them through to completion
  • Work with a sense of urgency as many requests require real time action to mitigate bank risk
  • Ability to problem solve. Attention to detail
  • Organizational awareness & familiarity with Bank systems (OLBB, Synergy, Sales Platform, CART, etc.)
Nice-to-have
  • Experience in the Business Service Centre (e.g. Liability, CTM, etc.) and
  • Experience in Capital Markets Global Loan Administration or CCMS is an asset
  • Proficiency with technology i.e. Microsoft Excel, and other Office products
  • Proficiency with RBC bank systems and ability to navigate through them; or a high aptitude to learn new systems
