Job Overview

Mountain Equipment Company (MEC) is seeking a results-driven Account Manager to join our team to manage the Trade Marketing Program. As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for building and delivering marketing plans for key accounts at MEC.

The ideal candidate has a proven track record of building marketing campaigns that drive results. You have experience managing multiple marketing projects from start to completion, keeping teams on-time, on-task, and on-budget. You love both project management and strategy and can confidently facilitate meetings and present your thoughts in a compelling way.

A passion for developing meaningful relationships, a no-task-to small attitude, clear communication and organizational skills are all essential to success.

Most importantly, you\xe2\x80\x99re stoked on the outdoors. You love to build trails, log miles, organize hut trips, or build epic backcountry brunches. You\xe2\x80\x99re a bit of a gearhead and are excited to share your passion for outdoor equipment with those around you.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Senior Marketing Manager and Merchants to identify key accounts and product stories to drive business for the upcoming season.
  • Analyze inventory reports and be able to interpret data to inform priorities.
  • Build and maintain a marketing calendar and project tracker across all key accounts.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts, develop and maintain strong industry relationships.
  • Facilitate meetings with key accounts and develop campaign plans centred around their businesses.
  • Create and manage project timelines and budgets.
  • Oversee the production of campaign marketing materials in collaboration with MEC\xe2\x80\x99s Creative Team.
  • Collaborate with MEC\xe2\x80\x99s Marketing Channel Owners (paid, email, visual presentation, and more) to bring campaigns to life.
  • Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and make recommendations for improvement, develop and present post-campaign reports.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Team to manage budget, ensure accurate financial reporting, and meet individual project and overall program targets.
  • Maintain as vendor digital asset management tracker so MEC teams have a consistent pipeline of vendor assets to leverage.
Qualifications
  • 4 years in marketing or account management, preferably in a retail environment.
  • A bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in a related discipline.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional communicator and presenter.
  • Ability to think creatively and develop innovative marketing solutions.
  • Experience with digital marketing channels, including social media, email marketing, and digital advertising.
  • Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Proven ability to manage and various sizes and scales of budgets.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Knowledge of outdoor recreation preferred.
  • Retail and understanding of visual merchandising preferred.
