The Account Manager is responsible for providing prompt courteous and efficient service to customers, advising them on appropriate merchandise and related items. His or her duties include being familiar with pricing, local building codes, preparing quotations, as well as a variety of other related duties. The Account Manager is the primary contact for building supplies orders and/or questions between the contractor/project manager/building owner. This position requires to travel.

Responsibilities:



Category Management: Planning, executing and delivery of category review process including:

- Support Customers with timely and accurate product and Supplier program and product information.

- Communication product knowledge to the customer as applicable.

- Process special orders for non-stock or out of stock items.

- Up to date with practical knowledge of building materials and lumber products, including their uses, advantages, and disadvantages.

- Resolve customer complaints

- Operate all point-of-sale equipment with sufficient speed and accuracy.

- Assist in taking annual inventory counts.

- Flexible and adaptable; able to operate independently and work effectively as part of a team.

- Ability to work on additional duties and assignments as assigned by management.

- Be responsive to the needs of existing and potential clients to identify new opportunities in the market.

- Provide product knowledge sessions to contractors including hands on training sessions

- Continuously audit our competition to better understand their business model. Maintain a database of products from the competition and the market prices.

Work in a safe manner in accordance with provincial and federal safety legislation, as well as use of good common sense. Report any potential hazards and unsafe behavior to management in order to have the situation corrected.

Skills and Qualifications:



- High School graduation or equivalent, with previous sales or account
Management experience preferred.

- Being bilingual is an asset

- Excellent communication, planning and negotiating skills.

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to balance, prioritize and manage several projects.

- Flexible and adaptable; able to operate independently and work effectively as part of a team.

- Ability to work additional or varied hours as required to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.

- Experience and knowledge within the industry would be an asset.

- Good mathematical skills.

- Knowledge of local building code.

- Knowledge of prices, practices, and policies of the company's competitors.

- Familiar with current yard inventory and surplus items.

- Maintain professional confidentiality of all store and customer records.

- Must be able to communicate effectively and persuasively with employees, management suppliers, and customers, to obtain accurate information for pricing, estimates, quotations, etc.

- Willingness to learn.

- Prior Account Management in building supplies experience is an asset

- Need to be self-motivated and well organized

- Must be computer literate

Pay: $60,000.00-$106,887.00 per year
