As the Account Management Lead at Ignite Technical Resources, you'll play a dual role - leading by example as an experienced Account Manager while providing tactical leadership to a team of high-performing Account Managers. You'll oversee client relationships, mentor your team, and ensure the consistent delivery of exceptional service across all accounts.
This is a player-coach position: you'll maintain a small portfolio of existing clients while guiding the team in developing new business, strengthening client partnerships, and achieving both individual and collective performance goals.
Reporting Structure:
You will report directly to the Director of Operations. The Account Management team will report directly to you.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership and Coaching
Lead, mentor, and support a team of Account Managers, ensuring consistent execution of Ignite's account management standards.
Conduct monthly one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and provide ongoing coaching and professional development.
Act as the first escalation point for the Account Management team, supporting them in resolving client and consultant issues.
Participate in the onboarding and training of new Account Managers, following the established training curriculum.
Attend client meetings alongside Account Managers for coaching and development purposes.
Client Relationship Management
Maintain and grow a small portfolio of active clients, ensuring high satisfaction and repeat business.
Support the team in building and maintaining relationships with key decision-makers across client organizations.
Guide Account Managers in developing proactive engagement strategies to expand client portfolios and increase revenue.
Sales and Business Development
Drive business growth through strategic account planning and targeted new business development.
Collaborate with the Recruitment Delivery team to ensure client requirements are met efficiently and effectively.
Reinforce sales best practices across the team, ensuring alignment with Ignite's standards for communication, presentation, and follow-through.
Collaboration and Strategic Input
Partner with leadership to identify opportunities to improve sales processes, account strategy, and client service.
Participate (but not own) in company-wide strategic initiatives and planning sessions to strengthen alignment between Account Management and Recruitment functions.
Provide regular feedback on market trends, team performance, and client needs.
Qualifications and Experience:
To be successful in this role, you should meet one of the following two core profiles:
Industry Expert Track:
5+ years of Account Management experience within the IT Staffing industry.
Demonstrated success in full-cycle business development, client management, and delivery coordination.
Leadership Track:
Proven leadership experience managing Account Managers or Sales teams within the staffing industry (any vertical).
Strong understanding of the staffing business model, with the ability to coach and guide Account Managers toward success.
Additional Attributes:
Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to lead by example and foster a high-performance culture.
A long-term mindset - committed to building lasting client and team relationships.
Familiarity with IT terminology and concepts is an asset, but not a requirement.
Work Model:
This is a hybrid role requiring in-person collaboration one week per quarter and one day per month at Ignite's Vancouver office. Candidates located anywhere in Canada are encouraged to apply.
