The Role




The Accommodated Exam Support Worker is a casual position that will work with the Learning Commons' Accessibility Services Team to provide testing accommodations to eligible students.


The Accommodated Exam Support Worker's duties will include setting up of exam space to meet the needs of students while maintaining an environment that ensures exam integrity. They will be required to proctor and/or read/scribe for the duration of the exam sitting and ensuring prompt delivery of the completed exam materials to the Accessibility Services Office. The Accommodated Exam Support Worker is required to adhere to the instructions for each individual exam as presented by Accessibility Services staff and will ensure that students understand and comply with those instructions.


This position is a casual appointment and will be for up to a maximum 17.5 hours/week. Weekly hours will vary dependent on the needs of eligible students.

Job Requirements
The successful candidate will have a minimum of high school diploma. To ensure exam security and integrity, current Northwestern Polytechnic students are not eligible for this position. Necessary skills and attributes to be successful in this role include:


Strong commitment to assisting students with disabilities and maintaining integrity of exams Flexibility in hours and days of work Fluency and excellent command of the English language including spelling, grammar and being comfortable reading aloud in a clear, level pitched manner. Neat and legible handwriting with hands-on experience using Microsoft Word Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to interact with a diverse population of students, especially individuals with varied and multiple disabilities
