Silver Cross Automotive, a division of Savaria, has an opening for an installer technician at our Toronto location. Silver Cross Automotive sells accessible vehicles and various equipment for drivers and passengers with mobility needs. Position Summary


The ideal candidate has good technical experience, having worked in automotive or other durable electrical/mechanical industries (accessibility equipment, car audio or another automotive aftermarket). To succeed, you are energetic and ready to learn new skills. You do quality work and have an aptitude for electrical and mechanical devices. Responsibilities

Install mobility lifts, transfer seating and driving aids in a variety of vehicles Diagnose and repair installed equipment Diagnose service issues with wheelchair accessible vehicle conversions (door operation, electrical troubleshooting), and adaptation products including driving aids, mobility lifts and transfer seats Solve service problems on the spot in the field Assist in delivery of vehicles to clients (detailing/preparation) Instruct clients in proper maintenance and use of all products Document service and installation actions by completing forms Update job knowledge by participating in vendor service schools Maintain customer confidence by keeping service information confidential Accountable for tools provided Supply your own hand tools and toolbox Perform other duties as requested

Mindset, Skills & Education

Energetic, eager, tenacious! 2 + years' experience as technician (car audio or other automotive electrical) Automotive mechanical and electrical aptitude is essential Ability to independently perform trouble shooting under pressure Valid Driver's License in good standing, clean police check, bondable Ability to lift 50 lbs Effective verbal and written communication skills Ability to work under pressure with a flexible schedule to maintain superior customer service Punctual, trustworthy and reliable Previous experience in home healthcare or vehicle adaptation is a huge asset Interest in learning new skills and staying current on technologies Ability to travel for educational sessions (2 times per year) Post secondary electromechanical college diploma or equivalent work experience Fluent in English with good communication skills Computer savvy (Word, email, etc.)
