The West Elgin Community Health Centre is located in the beautiful rural community of West Lorne, Ontario conveniently situated a half hour outside of London and Chatham.

The Centre is recruiting for an accessible transportation van driver- casual employment.

Primary Responsibilities:

Transporting clients safely and courteously based on a pre-determined ride schedule. Maintaining communication with the Centre's transportation contact throughout the shift. Performing a thorough vehicle safety inspection prior to departure and completing all required documentation. Complying with all Health and Safety Regulations, Ontario Traffic Safety Act, MTO Regulations and Centre policies.

There is no minimal guaranteed work hours with casual employment, however, it is typically a rotating work schedule with one week on, one week off - approximately 20 hours bi-weekly.

What Do you Bring to the Position?

Professional, kind, non-judgemental, accountable, service and care support focused. Ability to meet the physical demands of supporting clients with mobility challenges required. Computer literacy and smartphone experience needed. Flexible availability including possible weekends, travelling to London, St. Thomas, Chatham and surrounding areas in all weather conditions. Possess a G driver's license and good driving record required. Experience operating a wheelchair lift and a minimum of 3 years' driving commercial fleet or buses preferred. Current driver's abstract and vulnerable sector police check are required as conditions of employment.
