Role: Accessibility Project Manager
Location :Halifax, Nova Scotia
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented
Accessibility Project Manager
to lead and coordinate enterprise-wide accessibility remediation initiatives. This role will serve as the central point of contact among internal teams and external partners to ensure our digital platforms meet
WCAG 2.1 AA
standards. The ideal candidate is experienced in digital project management, accessibility compliance, and enterprise CMS environments.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary liaison across internal teams and external vendors involved in accessibility remediation.
Facilitate project planning, task prioritization, risk resolution, and team coordination.
Track and report remediation progress against project timelines, key dependencies, and critical milestones.
Lead regular working sessions and status meetings with:
+ External accessibility audit partners
+ Internal developers updating the CMS
+ Internal QA/compliance resources Proactively escalate blockers, risks, or scope changes to leadership for resolution.
Ensure all deliverables comply with
WCAG 2.1 AA
standards and accessibility best practices.
Prepare and present weekly or biweekly reports to senior stakeholders on project health, risks, and next steps.
Essential Skills & Experience
3 5 years of experience in project coordination or project management, preferably within digital or web projects.
Strong understanding of
accessibility guidelines (WCAG)
and digital compliance initiatives.
Experience managing or collaborating with third-party vendors or audit agencies.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Proficient in project tracking tools such as
Jira
,
Asana
, or
MS Project
.
Familiarity with
enterprise CMS environments
(e.g., Adobe AEM, Sitecore, TeamSite).
Understanding of front-end development workflows and QA/testing cycles.
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable Skills
Prior experience with
accessibility remediation
or audit-based compliance programs.
Exposure to agile or hybrid project delivery methodologies.
