Job Summary
Reporting to the Director, Academic Operations, and receiving work direction from the Registration Services Manager, the Academic Resource Advisor is a member of the front-line academic advising team, and is responsible for providing in-person, telephone, and email support to current and former students, parents, departmental administrators and faculty members, and staff in various administrative offices at the University. The front-line academic advising teams provides accurate and up-to-date information related to the Faculty's academic regulations, policies and procedures, and advises students on the Faculty's academic advising, academic appeal, academic consideration, letter of permission and registration processes. This position acts as a first point of contact and answers, redirects, or escalates questions from faculty, staff, parents and/or students. This position provides administrative support including scheduling, meeting coordination, preparing agendas, minutes, data entry, filing, reception, mail distribution, printing and distributing materials, updating directories and/or maintaining office supplies. This position generates a variety of program documents including reports, agendas, meeting minutes, letters of permissions and/or correspondence. This position also assists with planning program events.
This position acts as a resource for student support within their appropriate program. This position provides various program guidance and refers students to appropriate agencies for support. This position also prepares and distributes external communications including newsletters, website updates and monitoring and/or engaging on social media accounts, and attends recruitment events.
