Niagara College, Toronto Programs is a public college-private partnership between Niagara College Canada (NC) and TSoM, with academic delivery and student support services managed by TSoM. NCT is currently seeking an experienced accounting educator to join our team as an Academic Facilitator (Drop-In). The role holder will have exceptional organizational and communication skills to lead class lessons and discussions while encouraging students to develop skills and knowledge critically and rationally. Responsibilities

  • Organize coursework and learning materials, and lead class lessons, discussions, and presentations by bringing excitement, enthusiasm, and commitment to the sessions.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver various accounting-related topics for drop-in sessions.
  • Help reinforce understanding of concepts taught in class.
  • Clarify problems similar to those on graded assignments.
  • Review submitted assignments to help students identify areas for improvement.
  • Challenge ideas and encourage students to develop skills and knowledge critically and rationally.
  • Maintain attendance records for planning and forecasting relating to classroom management.
  • Evaluate and regularly review students\xe2\x80\x99 progress and provide feedback.
  • Create a supportive and positive classroom environment.

  • Financial Accounting
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor\'s degree from a recognized University in Accounting/Finance or equivalent is required.
  • At least 3 years\' experience teaching or tutoring Financial Accounting and Financial literacy.
  • Experience teaching or tutoring in a multicultural classroom.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to motivate students to achieve their learning objectives.
  • Ability to accommodate differences in students\xe2\x80\x99 learning styles.
  • An adaptable and understanding personality with a professional attitude and a dedication to excellence in teaching.
