Job Description

Position: Aboriginal Seafood Network (ASN) Assistant

Job Location: Fredericton, NB

Number of positions: 1 position full-time

Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week

Salary: $45,000

: To assist the Aboriginal Seafood Network Manager with the day to day operations

Qualifications

Strong organizational skills

Able to work independently without supervision

Strong writing and note taking ability

Team player

Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Valid New Brunswick driver's license

Education background in office administration or at least 4 years equivalent experience

Familiarity with Aboriginal Communal Commercial Fishing Industry would be an asset

Duties and Responsibilities:

Coordination and meetings and all arrangements including notices and logistics

Maintaining and updating documents, for example: by-laws, policies and procedures, health and safety manuals, etc.

Ability to work after regular office hours and weekends when needed

Must be able to travel throughout the Maritimes to attend various meetings

Report and coordinate with the Manager and President for guidance and day to day items

Regular reporting to the Manager and Board of Directors

Meet regular meetings with Manager to set direction and discuss progress

Proficient with MS Office Suite

Inspect and perform inventory counts of assets

Attend local community meetings

Attend various science and stakeholder meetings and report back to the Manager

Help ensure that policies are adhered to by all contractors and staff

General office duties including filing and processing of mail, emails and other messages received

Record minutes of all meetings and ensure timely distribution to relevant staff and board

Preparation of meeting materials including notices, agendas

Other duties as required by the Manager
