About Us:



Hopewoods has been an established counselling and psychotherapy centre for 13

years, with a team of over 30 registered psychotherapists and registered social workers

providing treatment for a wide range of psychological and life difficulties. This is our

website for further information: www.hopewoods.ca. We are expanding our services -

both assessment and treatment -- to serve children and youth, as well as the neuro-

atypical population, including autistic children, youths, and young adults. We already

have a multi-disciplinary team in place consisting of speech-language pathologists,

occupational therapists, ABCB therapists, and special education teachers. Our brand-

new Children's Mental Health Centre is housed in a commercial unit of 3000 + sq ft

equipped with group rooms, play/sensory rooms, classrooms, therapy rooms, and test

rooms.

Job description



ABA Instructor Therapists will work one-on-one with children diagnosed with Autism

Spectrum Disorder (or other developmental disabilities) in the center, employing ABA /

IBI teaching strategies while receiving supervision from a Clinical Supervisor (BCBA).

Successful candidates will have strong independent work skills, but more importantly,

they will understand the value of teamwork. Experience working in an office setting and

collaborating with team members in the consistent implementation of a kid's behavioural

programs and procedures is a key aspect of this role.

Requirements:



Experience as an Instructor Therapist (IT) implementing ABA/IBI programming is a MUST (additional training will also be provided as required) Undergraduate program in a related field (human behaviour, behaviour science, child development, social work) Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate professionally with parents/guardians/children Knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder and support services relating to ASD and developmental delays Outstanding organizational, interpersonal and time management skills Ability to work collaboratively with other team members First Aid/CPR C desired Professional Liability Insurance (1 year to date) Formal education in ABA, and supervised practice by a BCBA as an asset/ essential. ABA/Autism related Diploma/Certificate is an asset. Strong oral and written English communication skills are required. Mandarin or Cantonese speaking skills are an asset.

Pay: $22.00-$30.00 per hour
