About this opportunity

Product Engineering Group 1, within PEU Integrated RAN performance, is an R&D team responsible for end-to-end design, development, verification, and support of 5G BB SW features for Ericsson\'s market leading gNodeB product. This team contributes to Ericsson\'s goal of maintaining and gaining RAN market share through world leading Network Performance, winning benchmark activities and being recognized by operators as best performing network. PEG1 has R&D teams that innovate new algorithms and features that display our deep understanding of mobile networks and extend our position as a Mobile Technology Leader. The team also has design ownership of key 5G functions and features such as Spectrum Sharing, Traffic Management and Carrier Aggregation. PEG1 also has advanced capabilities in Node Level verification, Feature Interaction verification, IODT, Test Automation and troubleshooting. The team is located mainly in Ottawa and Austin. What you will do:

  • You will be a section manager in the PEU RP PEG1 organization, leading an R&D team with feature development and product ownership responsibilities on Ericsson\'s world leading gNodeB product.
  • Act as a leader, coach, facilitator, and impediment remover for your team of talented individuals.
  • Be responsible for career development, competence development, performance management and goal setting for your team members.
  • Provide support to the program as the Line Manager SPoC for features being developed in your team
  • Lead improvement activities for within your team, for reducing lead times and improving development efficiency
  • Stay on top of the progress of feature content being developed by your team
What you will bring:
  • 7+ years of work experience in the IT Telecom industry, in a project, product or team leadership roles
  • Good knowledge of 3GPP based telecommunications standards and 5G Baseband protocols
  • At least a Bachelor of science degree (or equivalent) in computer science, engineering, or relevant field
  • Experience with Embedded SW development or testing using Lean & Agile best practices
  • Extensive experience working proactively and collaboratively with colleagues across the broader global organization.
  • Experience in developing evolving technologies
