Description:
This course is an introduction to software and digital design approaches encountered in urban design. The course has been conceived to be of particular interest to urban design students who will be exposed to and work with digital design tools ranging from CAD, 3D modelling and visualization programs to more advanced integrated data-driven design and analytical tools and Geographical Information Systems (GIS).

Estimate of the course enrolment: Approximately 16 students per section
Salary:
Co-Sessional Lecturer I - $4,614.45; Co-Sessional Lecturer I Long Term - $4,965.40; Co-Sessional Lecturer II - $5,060.88; Co-Sessional Lecturer II Long Term - $5,163.31; Co-Sessional Lecturer III - $5,181.38; Co-Sessional Lecturer III Long Term - $5,285.01 (inclusive of vacation pay)
Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.
Minimum Qualifications:
MArch or MLA with an MUD degree or professional architectural or urban design experience preferred. We are seeking applicants with a proven record of working in the field of digital modeling and visualization who also have experience in teaching. Knowledge of a range of digital modelling and visualization software packages that would be relevant to the practice of urban design.
Description of Duties
: Preparation and delivery of course material; managing digital teaching materials, supervision of teaching assistants; preparation and delivery of assignments, tests, final examinations, and deferred final examinations; marking of student work, submission of grades, dealing with student enquiries, appeals and petitions, and student contact hours.
