Job Summary:
In accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values, and strategic directions of Provincial Health Services Authority patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at PHSA, and as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position. The 4th Class Maintenance Engineer maintains, repairs and modifies the steam distribution system, steam condensate system, medical air/vacuum systems, mechanical building systems and sterilizers at a 4th Class Power Engineer\'s level in conformance with accepted regulatory codes, WorkSafeBC regulations and established Hospital policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Education, Training and Experience
Graduation from a recognized program in power engineering plus two (2) years recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Certificate of competency as a 4th Class Power Engineer.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
