Position Summary



We are looking for a dedicated and reliable

3rd/4th Class Engineer

to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and operating the powerhouse equipment that supports our production operations. This is a hands-on role requiring the ability to work in a fast-paced, industrial environment, ensuring the reliable performance of mechanical systems in our facility. The position requires the flexibility to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule, which includes days, nights, and weekends.

Key Responsibilities



Operate, monitor, and maintain the plant's heating, cooling, ventilation, and power systems, including boilers, pumps, compressors, and other mechanical systems. Perform regular inspections and maintenance tasks to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all equipment in the powerhouse. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical failures to minimize downtime and maintain smooth facility operations. Monitor water treatment processes, including the maintenance of chemical dosing and water quality, to ensure safe system performance. Keep detailed records of inspections, maintenance, and repairs, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Respond to emergency situations promptly and safely, providing support to resolve issues that may impact plant operations. Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to identify and implement improvements to plant systems and equipment. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental policies, including those specific to industrial and mechanical systems. Maintain accurate logs of hours worked and equipment conditions as required. Participate in training programs to improve skills and knowledge, ensuring personal development and up-to-date certification. Assist in the implementation of plant shutdowns and system upgrades when required

Qualifications



Valid

3rd or 4th Class Engineer

certification (Ontario) is required. Experience working in a manufacturing facility, power plant, or industrial setting preferred. Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including boilers, pumps, compressors, and related equipment. Familiarity with water treatment systems, air handling systems, and HVAC systems. Proven ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain complex mechanical equipment. Ability to work effectively in a team and independently. Knowledge of safety standards and regulations (e.g., OH&S, CSA). Strong communication skills and the ability to document technical issues accurately. Flexibility to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, bending, and working in confined spaces.
