Act as the Stationary Engineer for the plant utilities such as water, boiler systems, compressed air etc. To complete building maintenance duties regarding steam, utilities and building which may include painting, plumbing etc. As well, manage the HVAC systems including inspections, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Work with users, operators, and maintenance staff to provide regulatory compliant and pure steam systems in the plant.
- Carry out timely completion of all preventative maintenance work order tasks as assigned including filter changes, water system sanitizations, boiler maintenance, plumbing repair, pump rebuilds, valve rebuilds and general maintenance duties .
- Prepare quality systems document when deviations occur and changes to the validated systems including SOP revisions and logbook entries, root cause analysis etc.
- Performs minor plumbing maintenance, leak repair, clogged drains, piping installation and fabrication as required.
- Provides technical expertise to facilities, maintenance, and outside contractors to assist them in understanding specific job requirements and in the planning for future expansion and capital projects.
- Recognizes and/or anticipates problems and takes necessary actions and/or notifies responsible individuals to reduce impact on production schedules.
- Respond to on call and emergency repairs as required outside of the normal shift coverage.
Education & Experience:
- Trade certification by recognized college, minimum 3rdClass Stationary Engineer Certification. Must be willing to work towards 2ndClass Stationary Engineer Certification.
- Strong HVAC and Refrigeration experience.
- Gasfitter Certification a strong asset.
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills, repair skills for water and steam
- Good interpersonal skills, demonstrates initiative, team player, results oriented, self-motivated, and good planning and organizing skills.
- Experience in the use of computerized systems and good computer skills in general.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to be flexible to respond to on-call requirements and work flexible shifts on a rotational basis.
- Proven team leadership skills
- Working knowledge of the Operating Engineers Act, the Boiler and Pressure Vessels Acts and the A.S.M.E code
