Hours of Work

32-40 hours per week, falling between 8:00 - 5:30 Monday- Friday. This includes up to 9 not-in-ratio administration hours (administration hours allotment calculated at 30 minutes per week per full time equivalent registered space. This program has a license for 18 children).

Compensation - based on qualifications

ECE -$ 32.69 (includes $6/hr Wage Enhancement. Not included is an annual completion bonus for employees who have passed probation, equivalent to 1-2.00 / hour)

Infant/Toddler - $ 33.81/hr (includes $6/hr Wage Enhancement. Not included is an annual completion bonus for employees who have passed probation, equivalent to 1-2.00 / hour)

Management hours - $ 37.46 / hr (includes $6/hr Wage Enhancement. Not included is an annual completion bonus for employees who have passed probation, equivalent to 1-2.00 / hour)

Benefits include extended medical and dental, 4 weeks paid vacation, and 4 paid professional development days annually. We are not a union facility, but have a collectively bargained contract and compensation is subject to all terms within the contract.

Eligibility

You MUST hold Canadian Citizenship, PR or refugee status for this position. Work permits, study-work permits are NOT eligible for this position. We are unable to sponsor employees for this position.

Overview

Our programs are primarily outdoors, and so you must be prepared to work outdoors with children for the majority of each day.

The Classroom Manager / Pedagogical Lead teacher provides direct care to children within the SSOCC Alderwood child care programs. You will have standard knowledge of the BC Early Learning Framework, Child Care Licensing Regulations and Act, and child development and learning. In addition, you are responsible for meeting and exceeding licensing expectations, the BCQAS quality standards and mentoring your team of teachers, practicum students and parent volunteers.
