to join our team. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of trucks, other heavy vehicles and heavy equipment when required.
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 7:00 am to 4:30 pm - may be required to work Saturdays or shifts/weekends and/or evenings. Overtime is necessary during peak periods and when workload necessitates.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect, diagnosis, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on heavy duty trucks.
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, safety inspections, and CVR compliance checks.
Conduct repairs on brakes, engines, transmissions, suspension systems, fuel systems, exhaust systems, and electrical components.
Utilize diagnostic tools and software to identify issues in complete repairs.
Complete work orders, inspection reports, and documentation in accordance with ministry regulations.
Maintain an organized work environment and ensure safety protocols are followed.
Road test vehicles when necessary to ensure repairs are completed correctly.
Complete work orders.
Practice good housekeeping habits.
Repair body as needed.
Make service calls as needed.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements
Valid Truck & Coach Technician Certificate - must be in good standing.
Valid Ontario driver's license (AZ or DZ preferred).
Minimum 2-5 years of relevant experience working with heavy trucks.
Strong knowledge of Ontario's Hwy. traffic act, CVOR requirements, and safety code standards.
Ability to read and interpret service manuals, technical drawings, and schematics.
Strong problem solving and communication skills.
May require lifting of up to 50 lbs.
Able to work effectively with minimal or no supervision.
Work at heights.
Work in inclement weather conditions.
