Position Summary
We are looking for a licensed
310T Truck & Coach Mechanic
to join our fleet maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy trucks and equipment, including diesel, CNG, gas, and electric vehicles. This is a hands-on position that plays a key role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of GFL's fleet.

Key Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair operational difficulties with heavy-duty diesel trucks and equipment.
Maintain and repair heavy diesel, CNG, gas, and electrically operated equipment and vehicles.
Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and brake systems.
Complete reports, work orders, order parts, and perform other administrative duties as required.
Plan and schedule repairs in the M5 planner system and procure required parts.
Assist in the review of mechanical write-ups on equipment and coordinate repair schedules.
Ensure safe working conditions and compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Utilize a variety of power and hand tools and equipment.
Provide and maintain the tools necessary to perform maintenance tasks on heavy/hydraulic equipment.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Conform to all applicable federal, provincial/state, and local laws and regulations, as well as company policies and directives.
Assist in the training and orientation of new employees.
Stay current with industry technology through technical manuals, training seminars, and certifications.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements
High school diploma or GED required; technical diploma preferred.
Valid
310T Truck & Coach Mechanic License
(mandatory).
Minimum of one (1) year of hands-on experience as a diesel mechanic (waste, transportation, or construction industry experience is an asset).
Experience with diagnostic software is an asset.
Must be computer literate, with the ability to learn and work with fleet management software systems.
Must meet relevant criteria for safety-sensitive functions according to company standards.
Valid driver's license (DZ or AZ preferred but not required).

Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with others.
Ability to follow detailed instructions, work independently, and maintain accurate records.
Ability to read and effectively use repair and parts manuals in English.
Skilled in operating vehicles and equipment required to perform job duties.
Physically capable of performing all aspects of the role.

Physical/Mental Demands
Ability to stand, sit, walk, reach, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, and balance.
Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle tools and equipment.
Frequent lifting/pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs.
Continuous visual and mental attention required (close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, focus adjustment).

Working Conditions
Frequently exposed to loud noise, humidity, hot and cold weather, moving mechanical parts, vibration, toxic and caustic chemicals, fumes, and airborne particles.
May occasionally be required to work at heights or in precarious places.
Work environment is typically loud and fast-paced.
