Job Description

We are seeking a 310T Heavy Truck Technician who is aspiring to reach their potential in the field of heavy equipment diagnoses, repair and maintenance. AAROC Equipment is part of the John Aarts Group responsible for repairing and maintaining vehicles, trucks and heavy equipment in support of our aggregate, concrete, asphalt and heavy civil divisions.
Environment

While repairing and maintaining vehicles, trucks and heavy equipment you will be working in a well-lit, clean, and well-ventilated service bay. Travel to off-site locations may be required where work will be completed outdoors. Monday-Friday split day and evening shifts required.
How you will make an IMPACT

  • Repair and maintain medium and heavy-duty vehicles
  • Diagnose equipment problems
  • Perform brake and safety inspections
  • Repair and adjust hydraulic pumps, safety valves, and any other necessary mechanical components
  • Perform incidental welding operations on equipment
  • Perform mechanical repairs on equipment in the shop and road calls when required
  • Operate automotive servicing equipment
  • Installation of new and added-on equipment
  • Electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting and diagnostics
  • Repair cooling, and lubrication systems
  • Install and align engines and machinery
  • Repair mechanical transmissions, drive-trains and final drives
  • Repair cable-operated working attachments, winches, compressors, pumps, electric generators, etc.
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance
  • Instruct apprentices
  • Road work when required
  • Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances
  • Communicate any unsafe conditions or accidents/injuries in a timely manner to the supervisor in order to facilitate prompt correction or reporting
  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service
  • Accurate completion of work orders and timecards
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work
  • Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation
  • Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology and repair techniques
  • Other duties as assigned

How you WOW us

  • Valid 310T Certificate
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2-5 years related experience preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License with clean abstract
  • Must be able to lift/carry up to 75lbs
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to provide own tool set for the work required
  • Welding and electrical experience preferred
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and air brake systems preferred
  • Ability to keep accurate records
  • Basic Computers skills
  • Reliable and punctual

  • Ability to work well in a team environment with a positive attitude
