Position Overview
As an Electrical Apprentice, you'll work alongside Journeymen and skilled team members, learning the trade while contributing to real projects. Over time, your skills will grow, and you'll take on more responsibility and ownership of the work you do. From troubleshooting and renovations to installations in commercial, industrial, and residential settings, you'll gain hands-on experience and build the foundation for a successful career in the electrical industry.
What you'll be doing as an Electrical Apprentice:
Deciding on the best methods for estimating, measuring, and proving visually pleasing work as appropriate for the job situation
Deciding when additional materials are needed to complete required work, in accordance with the Ontario electrical code
Defining and labeling wires, conduits, and apparatus
Deciding on best routing options for conduit, wires, and other systems
Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for various tasks related to electrical work.
Take proper care of their tools and make sure they are returned to their proper locations daily
Ensure that the work area is clean, safe, and orderly. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while performing all tasks
Attending safety meetings/courses
Performing field work/installations (residential, commercial and industrial)
Maintaining Work Order Accuracy
Refining and mastering your skills in the electrical trade!
Job Specific Requirement/Knowledge/Experience:
High School Diploma
Registered Electrical apprentice - Minimum completed level 3, 309A Electrical Construction and Maintenance
Valid Driver's License with clear abstract is required
Excellent attitude with a proactive, hardworking and team-oriented personality is must!
Passionate about electrical and crafting their trade!
Qualified candidates will have a full comprehensive understanding of the Ontario electrical code and installation procedures for residential, commercial, industrial
Experience in construction industry, with proven experience bending and installing conduit
Practical experience working with lifts and elevated platforms
Solid troubleshooting, with the ability to think outside the box and problem-solve under pressure
Reliable and committed to quality work
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
Attention to detail and ability to meet specified deadlines is a must!
Self-motivated, well organized and ability to work alone to complete small jobs and service calls
Good numeracy skills
The ability to read blueprints and schematics is an asset
Good communication skills, both verbal and written (English)
Full set of hand tools needed to be successful in electrical trade (screwdrivers, stripers, whole saws, knock outs, tester etc.)
Adhere to all Health and Safety standards and practices
Valid safety courses an asset (confined spaces, arc flash, fall protection, fire safety & extinguishers, first aid, hazard recognition, health and safety awareness, lockout tag out, mobile elevating work platform, WHMIS, working at heights)

Job Type: Full-time (hours may very from week to week)
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour (will be based on proven experience and knowledge of trade)
Schedule:
Monday to Friday
Weekends as needed
