The Dumont Technical Institute a division of Gabriel Dumont Institute of Native Studies and Applied Research invites applications for the following position:
3 Educational Assistants - ABE Program - La Loche

Responsibilities:
To assist the La Loche ABE programs with student support, including working one on one with students and providing support during classroom hours. Help students catch up on missed classes by distributing handouts, sharing important information, and ensuring they have access to necessary resources. Assist instructors with preparation tasks, such as photocopying and organizing materials for lessons. Support the coordination of events, including graduation. Assist with student fundraising initiatives to support program activities. Subject areas include Communications, Math, Social Sciences, Science, Lifeworks, English Language Arts A30, B30, Biology, Native Studies at the grades 10 - 12 levels.
Qualifications:
Must have a minimum of a Grade 12 diploma. Completion of one year of post-secondary education is preferred; however, equivalent experience will also be considered. Previous experience working with adult learners would be an asset. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain concepts in a clear and approachable manner. Strong interpersonal skills, with an empathetic and patient approach to working with students
from various backgrounds and ability levels. Demonstrated problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt tutoring methods to suit individual student needs and learning styles. Effective time-management skills, able to balance multiple student needs and administrative tasks within designated hours. A solid understanding of Metis culture and the ability to work sensitively with people from diverse equity groups. Proficient with computers, including educational software,
virtual learning platforms, and other relevant technology for tutoring. Strong organizational skills, capable of managing documentation and maintaining records of tutoring sessions efficiently. Willingness to participate in training sessions and continuous learning to stay updated on tutoring strategies and educational resources.
Remuneration: $40,040 - $52,692 plus benefits package
Location: La Loche, Saskatchewan
Term: October 2025 - May 2026 (possibility of renewal)
