SNA provides resources and training where suited best to ensure that each team member has the tools to complete their tasks to the best they can.The Role: The Carpenter Apprentice will be required to perform various physically demanding tasks and operate various power hand tools while working in a team and individual setting. The Carpenter Apprentice must have at least 1-2 years of carpentry experience.Responsibilities/Tasks: - Prefabrication, erection, and removal of structural formwork for concrete foundations, wall columns, beams, slabs, and shafts, including re-shoring- Construct and maintain structural woodwork- Make repairs to the internal and external structure- Maintain company safety guidelines and practices- Clean and preform preparation of construction work sites- Use tools, materials, and equipment on site- Assist erect and disassemble scaffolding, shoring braces, ramps or other temporary structures- Heavy lifting of equipment and project materials- Load, unload and identify building materials, machinery, and tools, and distribute them to the appropriate locations according to project plans and specifications- Assist the Project Supervisor and Site Superintendent on site- Perform demolition workRequirements: - Ability to provide physical effort - some heavy lifting required- Comfortable using both hand and power tools- Capable of reading blueprint drawings- Previous experience in the commercial construction industry, preferred 1-2 years- Experience using measurement tools- Knowledge of workplace safety, and safe lifting and handling procedures- Knowledge of First Aid and CPR preferred- Able to readily determine the correct tools and equipment needed to do the job- Requires ability to climb ladders for heights- Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry objects, using abdominal and lower-back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue- 1st or 2nd year Carpenter Apprentice Accreditation- Some travel requiredExperience: Construction: 1-2 years (preferred)Licence/Certification: Drivers License (required)First Aid/CPR (preferred)Fall Arrest (preferred)Carpenter Apprentice (1st or 2nd year)Compensation: Based on relative experience and qualificationsWork Remotely
