Please be advised that multiple Strike Resource Scheduler casual positions are available with an initial work assignment in Edmonton.
Summary of Duties:
The Strike Resource Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and confirming scheduling assignments to ensure prompt shift coverage in a fast-paced environment. This role supports operational continuity by processing schedule changes, responding to emergent staffing needs, and providing direct support during strike actions. Working under general supervision and within established procedures, the Scheduler also plays a key role in intake processing, strike line coordination, and attendance tracking. The ability to manage sensitive information and maintain a high degree of confidentiality is essentials.
Qualifications:
Grade 12 Diploma.
Detail-oriented and meticulous.
Well-organized and able to manage multiple details simultaneously.
Able to diligently follow established processes.
Basic Apple computer and Microsoft Office experience would be an asset.
Valid driver's license may be required.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Experience:
Previous: One (1) year experience in a clerical environment performing
clerical duties is required. One (1) year Scheduling experience is considered
an asset.
Key Activities:
Scheduling
+ Confirm schedule information from applicable sources.
+ Assign shifts to members based on availability, skillsets, and rotation guidelines.
+ Communicate schedule assignments to members via phone.
+ Maintain accurate records and logs of scheduled shifts and hours.
+ Assist with basic clerical duties such as filing, data entry, and document preparation.
+ Maintain confidentiality of member information and union activities. Intake
+ Process illness leaves to confirm and assign to Schedulers.
+ Working collaboratively with Strike Captains to process and fill emergent Designated Essential Services requests from the Employer.
+ Update schedules and create new schedules as required. Strike Support
+ Strike Line Attendance Tracking
- Monitor and document strike line participation.
- Coordinate picket line attendance and verify presence.
+ Strike Line Resupplying
- Coordinate logistics and delivery of materials to strike line locations.
- Provide on-site distribution of resources and support supplies.
+ Strike Captain Support Staff
- Provide relief and support to Strike Captains, particularly in rural areas.
- Assist with auxiliary Strike Captain duties as needed.
- Serve in a flexible strike support role, including acting as Strike Captain when required. Other duties may be assigned as required based on operational requirements.
The benefits are as per the collective Agreement between AUPE and AULReP and the hourly rate will be $31.36
