The Opportunity



The Leader, Digital Experience, supports the team in defining Technical Safety BC's digital experience strategy across client-facing platforms, determining and reporting on measures of success and working cross functionally to create a consistent client user experience. This includes relevant and compelling content as well as cross-organization guidance and standards on preferred UX design across client journeys. With a view to improving safety-minded decision making and establishing Technical Safety BC as the trusted source of technical safety expertise, the Leader, Digital Experience, will prioritize the work of the team and seek out ways to improve productivity while designing effective external digital strategies.

Pay Grade: 19 ($98,500 - $147,800 annual base salary)



Location: Vancouver (hybrid work environment)



Reports to: Director, Integrated Marketing & Experience




As a Leader, Digital Experience, you will:



Digital Experience Strategy and Leadership

: + Develops and leads the digital experience strategy that supports Technical Safety BC's strategy and business plan. Ensure we deliver a consistent, efficient end-to-end user experience across all client-facing digital platforms.
+ Optimizes digital platform experience and builds capabilities for automation and personalization to drive measurable increases in participation, connection, and user satisfaction.
+ Prioritizes the work of the team using an agile, documented framework that supports transparency and builds trust.
+ Manages reporting employees; involving recruitment and selection, coaching and development, performance management, corrective performance measures and discipline, and all related people practices in accordance with polices, practices, and the collective agreement. Interprets and applies the provisions of the collective agreement and represents the Employer in confidential labour relations matters.

User Experience and Content Collaboration

+ Represents user experience requirements in collaboration with multiple teams and squads.
+ Partners with client-facing teams and communications experts to recommend and deploy highly effective online programs, tools and services that support campaigns, Go-To-Market activities, and ongoing product evolution.
+ Guides the evolution and experience support for digital tools.
+ Oversees the content management system for technicalsafetybc.ca.

Platform Performance & Analytics

+ Uses research, business intelligence, and performance analytics to evaluate platform effectiveness on an ongoing basis and develops plans that address opportunities for improvement.
+ Determines success measures, sets targets and reports regularly on the progress against goals.
+ Assess digital platform performance, security, maintenance, and evolution recommendations.
+ Systematically contributes digital intelligence (data and analysis) back to the organization in order to improve product design, policy development, and Go-To-Market plans.

Data and Accessibility Governance

+ Oversees the development, application and evolution of Digital Brand Standards and Web Governance Policy, and ensures all material published across digital platforms adheres to Data Publishing Governance Policy standards and legislative requirements.
+ Improve and evolve data collection in client portals and existing online fillable forms.
+ Ensures all digital and web projects meet or exceed modern accessibility standards.

Stakeholder & Vendor Relationship Management

+ Builds strong relationships with and collaborates with relevant teams to ensure an integrated and seamless end-to-end digital experience.
+ Collaboration with and representation of user experience requirements on across multiple teams and squads.
+ Oversees relationships with 3rd party vendors.
+ Develops and manages the annual budget for Digital.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience you have:




Requires a degree in economics, marketing, communications, computer science, information management, web-based technology or other business-related fields and supplemented by 7-9 years' experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership position. Relentless focus on, and empathy for, how people experience and interact with Technical Safety BC. A track record of leadership excellence, collaborative workstyle, and outcome delivery. Demonstrated ability to translate data into insight, recommendation and action to continuously improve user experience. Experience in site optimization, testing and campaign analytics. Experience with CRM data management, personalization, marketing automation and customer journey mapping. Demonstrates comfort with change and can lead through change. Effectively communicates with agencies, developers, analysts, and technical support staff. Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse group of people with different levels of technical background. Strong business and financial acumen. Understanding of the technical disciplines regulated by Technical Safety BC is an asset. Strong leadership, management and coaching skills, and the ability to lead cross functional teams to achieve strategic objectives, preferably in a unionized environment.
