ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skill, Experience)
Successful completion of a two year Health Information Management Diploma
Currently Certified with the Canadian Health Information Management Association
Member in good standing with CHIMA, including completion of required CPE credits
Minimum of one year recent related job experience
Recent hospital coding experience preferred
Intermediate skill in computer programs such as MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint), and Internet (CIHI online query, Postal Code Lookup)
-Intermediate to advanced skill in Abstraction Software (Med2020- Winrecs)
Demonstrated advanced skill in Folio (ICD-10-CA, CCI)
Demonstrated knowledge of various applicable legislative acts (Public Hospital's Act, Mental Health Act, Personal Health Information Protection Act)
Advanced knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology
* Understanding and knowledge of the complicated funding formula components (HIG, CMG, QBP) regarding Health Services Funding Reform
