Clinical Counsellor (Sexual Assault Services)

Location:

Oceanside (Parksville, BC)

Hours:

5 hours/week (temporary until October 3, 2025)

Salary:

$44.54/hour

Start Date:

July 15, 2025 (ASAP)



We are looking for a Clinical Counsellor to join our Sexual Assault Services team! Ideally, this individual must have strong interpersonal skills, have experience providing therapy related to sexual assault/sexual abuse using trauma and culturally responsive practices, and work well in a team.

Description of Position:

Reporting to:

Mental Health and Social Services Team Leader

General Responsibilities:

Provide clinical services to Sexual Assault Survivors (all ages and genders) in the Nanaimo and Oceanside areas

Program-specific Responsibilities:

Work directly with survivors providing evidence-based therapeutic treatment, to assist in recovery following sexual assault or sexual abuse. Provide individual sessions, groups, workshops or community education related to Sexual Violence and Trauma

Physical Demands of Job:

Lifting/Pulling/Pushing - 25%, Walking/Moving Around - 50%, Sitting - 75%, Time Spent Outside - 25%

Cognitive Demands of Job:

Independent Work - 75%, Task Memorization - 50%, Changing Priorities/Deadlines - 50%, Writing/Reading - 50%

Qualifications:

Master's degree in human services (e.g., MACP, MC, MA (CYC), MSW) Registration with a governing body required (RCC, CCC) Two (2) years recent related experience Must have current First Aid certification Ability to obtain a clear Criminal Record Check
