We are looking for a Child & Youth Worker/ Assistant Behavior Consultant (18-month Parental Leave Coverage) to join our Behavior Intervention and Mental Health/Behavior Analysis and Consultation East team! Ideally, this individual has an education in Applied Behavior Analysis or related field, completed post-secondary education, a full driver's license and experience working with children and youth in mental health settings.

Manager of Behaviour Support Services
General Responsibilities:
Effective and collaborative communication with MCFD staff is essential.
Creating a strong team environment.
Case management and report writing.
Write accurate session notes and maintain files.
Attend and participate in regularly scheduled team meetings.
Collect/monitor/record data and review client progress with analyst and other team members.
Develop, teach, and demonstrate the strategies of the program.
Assist in overseeing the clinical skills of other team members.
Some administration duties are required.
Facilitating group and individual client sessions.
Program-specific Responsibilities:
Maintain a caseload and provide direct services to families referred to the program.
Provide intervention for youth with mental health challenges and/or developmental disabilities.
Support client goals as directed by the referring Mental Health Clinician. Goals may include socialization, symptom reduction and skill development.
Develop, teach, and demonstrate strategies of positive behaviour support.
Under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analysis you will create positive behavior support plans for caregivers.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in social work, Psychology, Child and Youth Care, Behavioural Sciences, or another related field.
Minimum 2 years' experience working with children and families, supporting people with behaviour challenges, or other related experience.
A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Familiar and comfortable working with Microsoft Office products.
Mandatory possession of a valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and a reliable vehicle.
