Program Supervisor Permanent Part Time



Details of the Position

Under the direction of the Manager, provides oversight of assigned programs and staff. May include other services mandated by contracts with provincial government ministries. Tasks include support and supervision of program staff to ensure a team-based, client-centered service delivery.



This is an exempt position.

28 hours/week. Flexible schedule. Will include some evenings and one weekend day.

Wednesday:

9:00AM - 5:00PM

Thursday:

9:00AM - 5:00PM

Friday:

11:00AM - 7:00PM

Saturday:

10:00AM - 6:00PM



Starting Pay Rate

$69,160 - $74,620 per year, prorated

Additional Information

Satisfactory completion of a criminal records search, valid driver's license, clear drivers abstract, and Standard First Aid Certificate are requirements of this position. A second language is an asset.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:



1. Adherence to the constitution, philosophy, mission, and values of the Society.

2. Supports the oversight of all day-to-day operations and provision of services for residential programs. Will be part of a rotating team that provides on-call support to program staff.

3. May be responsible for the development, recruitment and training of Volunteers for the Volunteer Crisis Line Program. In addition, will be responsible for the onboarding and training of program staff.

4. In consultation with manager ensures effective program/service delivery consistent with the Society's mandate, policies, legal, contractual, budgetary, and other requirements. May develop and make recommendations for the development of new program areas.

5. Participates as a member of the Leadership Team in developing long range and strategic plans, assessing and resolving operational issues and policies.

6. In consultation with the Manager, will participate in human resource activities, including hiring, training, supervision, performance appraisal, discipline, grievance resolution, arbitration, discharge and oversee the scheduling of program staff.

7. In consultation with the Manager will provide active supervision to program staff, including support, information, training, and case consultation. Monitors the service delivery of staff and volunteers to ensure a high level of consistency and quality of service.

8. Will adhere to Health and Safety requirements in compliance with Provincial and Agency policies and procedures. When required, will be a management representative on the JOHS committee.

9. In consultation with the Leadership Team and program staff, will develop and establish standards and accountability mechanisms for transitional housing programs. Recommends long-range plans and objectives in program delivery.

10. Will provide feedback on the development of programs, resources, budgets, operational and organizational requirements for all new and existing programs.

11. When requested, participate in various internal and external committees, working groups, and associations.

12. Maintains effective relationships with community groups. Liaises with community organizations to coordinate the provision of services and resolve program delivery issues.

13. Prepares reports and will make presentations as required. Engages in ongoing education regarding intimate partner violence.

14. Performs other related duties as required.



Qualifications

Education:

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline (social work, psychology, counselling).



Training and Experience:



The position requires a thorough knowledge of intimate partner violence, a feminist perspective counselling approach.



Extensive program development and supervisory experience in management in a unionized

environment is an asset.



Dedication to ongoing education and development is essential.



Completion of a university degree and related experience is required.



Three to five years of Leadership experience in the community social service sector
