Position Overview



We are seeking an enthusiastic

Civil Engineering Summer Student

to join our team for the

2026 construction season

. The successful candidate will gain hands-on field experience on

highway, airfield, and paving projects

, including:

15 Wing Canadian Air Force Base in Moose Jaw, SK Highway 5 Twinning Project west of Saskatoon Paving and surfacing projects across the province
Working under the guidance of a Professional Engineer, you will assist in

surveying, project administration, quality control testing

, and coordination with field crews to help deliver high-quality products for our clients.

Candidates demonstrating strong performance will be shortlisted for rehire in the

2027 construction season

.

Key Responsibilities



Assist with field survey operations (RTK GPS training provided) Conduct materials testing including sieve analysis and quality assurance checks Support project administration and document control (daily reporting, resource tracking, FLRAs, etc.) Coordinate with field crews, suppliers, and subcontractors Participate in daily safety procedures, hazard assessments, and incident reporting Contribute to improving internal digital processes and quality control systems Travel to multiple job sites across Saskatchewan as required

Required Skills & Attributes



Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team Strong communication and organizational skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook (Smartsheet experience an asset) Demonstrated time management skills in fast-paced environments Commitment to workplace health and safety

Qualifications



Minimum

1 year of post-secondary Civil Engineering (or related)

studies completed Valid Class 5 Driver's License Ability to work extended shifts and travel to remote project locations Able to pass background check, drug & alcohol screening, and fit-for-duty assessment

Work Schedule & Conditions



Rotation:

10 days on / 4 days off (includes weekend work)

Hours:

12-14 hours per day

Work Type:

Field-based (on the road, laboratory and project sites)
