Under the direction of the Manager of Information Technology Services, this role is responsible for the deployment, support, and optimization of student data applications across the Board. These applications may include custom-developed internal tools as well as professional software solutions used to deliver services effectively. This position plays a critical role in enhancing the Board's data infrastructure and ensuring seamless access to accurate student information.

Responsibilities
:
Administer Student Information Systems and Ontario School Information System (OnSIS) applications to ensure users know how to enter information according to the Ministry of Education's guidelines and policies.
Act as main point of contract for Student Information Systems and OnSIS data quality, submission timelines, and School/Board updates.
Respond to user inquiries on data entry, Enrolment Register questions, troubleshooting and submissions for unique situations.
Responsible for conducting and ensuring compliance for Ministry reporting, including ONSIS, EQAO, and other regulatory data requirements.
Design, manage, and improve digital workflows and integrations across platforms and services.
Generate, analyze, and present data reports to support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.
Develop and implement tools, scripts, and processes to enhance data quality, automation, and system performance.
Design and implement intuitive dashboards that streamline processes, identify anomalies, and deliver accurate, actionable insights for reporting.
Collaborate with vendors to define, deploy, and support software solutions tailored to Board needs.
Provide training and documentation for staff on new features, systems, and processes.
Support electronic forms and communications platforms, ensuring seamless user experience and data flow (i.e. School Messenger).
Facilitate data exchange between systems and services, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
Provide Tier 2 technical support via helpdesk for issues related to student data systems and integrations.
Contribute to Board-wide IT planning, offering insights and collaboration on short- and long-term objectives.
Creates and maintains information technology documentation, contingency and disaster recovery plans.
Act as a technical resource to Board committees, school councils, and staff on data technology matters. (i.e. Helpdesk and Board Meeting Support)
Performs other duties as required which are considered within the intent and scope of an Information Technology position.
Qualifications:
Post-secondary degree in recognized discipline related to computer science, information technology, or systems support.
Industry-recognized certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent are considered assets.
Demonstrated experience working within an educational environment, particularly with student data systems and related processes.
Proficiency in data formats and definitions including SQL, XML, JSON, and CSV, with hands-on experience in data manipulation using tools such as Excel and scripting languages.
Practical knowledge of programming, scripting, and reporting tools such as PowerShell, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and Power BI.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on data integrity and process optimization.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support and train end users across varying levels of technical proficiency.
Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and maintain thorough documentation to support technical operations and project work.
Valid G Driver's license, as travel to Red Lake, ON is required as per the needs of the school (minimum of 3 times annually).
