Position Summary
Mount Carmel Clinic is a non-profit community health center located in the North End of Winnipeg. MCC provides a wide range of integrated primary health, community, and early learning services to inner-city residents, Indigenous persons, newcomers, and others who require our unique approach. Under the direction and supervision of the Facility Manager, the Maintenance Worker provides a range of general maintenance services in and around all Mount Carmel Clinic sites. The Maintenance Worker is responsible for working as part of a team that ensures that the buildings and grounds are maintained in a condition that is safe and healthy for MCC staff, participants, and members of the public.
Qualifications
Education & Licensing
Grade 12 or equivalent
Valid Class 5 driver's license, with a satisfactory driver's abstract, and access to a reliable vehicle is a requirement
Skills, Expertise, and Experience
Demonstrated strong mechanical aptitude
Two (2) years of on-the-job maintenance experience
Proven knowledge of painting, plumbing, and electrical systems and a minimum of two (2) years of experience working with such systems
Willingness to update technical knowledge in keeping with changing technology and processes
Knowledge of and ability to use outside grounds-keeping equipment (tractor, snow blower)
Physical Requirements
Bona fide occupational requirement to be in good health and able to meet the physical demands of the job, including manual dexterity, bending, working at high levels and in confined spaces, and lifting to seventy-five (75) pounds
