Job Summary




Participates in and supports the operational activities of a business unit. Applies experience and complete working knowledge of the job and policies/practices to perform a combination of routine tasks and varied administrative/operational assignments.

This posting is for a

4-month Student Fall 2025

placement with a start date of September 2025 and end-date of December 2025.


In order to be eligible for this 4-month Student position, you must either:

Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of December 2025; or If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in September/December 2025), but you require the work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.

As Student - Senior Commercial Credit Financing, you will play an important role in contributing both broadly and directly to the continued success of RBC's Senior Commercial Markets client segment and the 2025 Goals of the SCM Finance team. You will become a valued member of the SCM Finance team working closely with both the Director of Operations & Strategic Initiatives as well as the Director of Portfolio Management while gaining exposure to our some of the team's client-facing complex lending activities across the country.

What you will do:



Become familiar with the end-to-end credit process within RBC's most complex commercial banking client segment and consider innovative ways of improving the overall client experience, thus furthering the overall service differentiation. Aid, contribute to, and take on ownership of certain deliverables across various strategic initiatives and projects that are top priorities for the coming fiscal year and integral to achieving success. Impact the successful execution of change and building of employee skills in change management through proactive communication, issue resolution, and effective decision-making. Participate in a number of key portfolio management supporting activities including, but not limited to, client segment data integrity reviews, monthly portfolio reporting, activity and deal tracking, data analysis, senior leadership presentations, etc. Support the development and execution of a communication strategy and drive forward regular monitoring of business planning processes. Provide support to the coordination of key team conferences/meetings (develop agendas, produce presentation materials, manage post-event action items, etc.).

Must-have:



Sound organizational and prioritization skills. Strong interpersonal skills in working effectively with various levels of staff and ability to work in a team. Sound judgement in decision making; strong problem-solving skills and resourceful in working with others. Professional verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrate initiative and a positive and helpful attitude when dealing with others in a professional manner. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook); Intranet and Internet navigational and research skills.

Nice-to-have:



Related work term experience within a matrixed corporate environment. French language skills.
