Duties and Responsibilities:





This position reports to the Director and will primarily perform a variety of duties including, but not limited to: cleaning; mail/parcel delivery services and receiving; parts receiving and pick up; snow removal, grounds maintenance and beautification; operation of heavy equipment such as skid steer, zoom-boom, fork-lift, powered mobile equipment, elevated platforms, 4x4 gator; operation of light equipment including snow blower, ride-on and push lawn mowers, and other equipment as needed. Employees are responsible for maintaining current certifications and licenses for specialty equipment to be a BSW-II.



Additional duties of a BSW-II include but are not limited to: maintaining and servicing motorized and mechanical equipment; moving furniture; using the FAMIS 360 system to prepare work orders, and other relevant duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications and Experience:





The preferred candidates must possess the following qualifications: a minimum Grade 12 or GED with two (2) years' experience in institutional cleaning and groundskeeping, or a combination of equivalent education and experience. To be successful, candidates must be physically capable of completing a Physical Demands Assessment and perform all aspects of the position. Preferred candidates must demonstrate competency with motorized and power equipment; and hold a valid Class 5 driver's license and can safely operate a motor vehicle. Knowledge and ability to use FAMIS 360 work order system to prepare work orders is preferred. Successful candidates are expected to communicate effectively with co-workers, Lead Hand, supervisors, as well as internal customers on campus. Being able to work collaboratively with others and contribute positively to the overall success of a team is essential in this role. Candidates must also be able to work independently and be self-motivated. Candidates who demonstrate a willingness to obtain certification for BU required equipment (e.g., skid steer, forklift) may be considered.

This position is open to current internal IUOE (D) candidates only

Shifts will be scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends with a variety of start times and are subject to change due to operational needs. Testing may be required to demonstrate competency with motorized and power equipment.
