JOB OVERVIEW

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for dynamic, strategic and results-driven students to join our team in the role of Co-op / Developmental Student. We have multiple opportunities available at our Saunders Hydro Dam Visitor Centre location in Cornwall, Ontario. Please note that our Cornwall location is not public transit accessible. These positions are 100% on site and will require the successful candidate to live in the area. The work terms are four (4) months and start in May, 2024.

The compensation rate for these positions starts at $25.83 per hour and will commensurate with experience.

Opportunities are available to students specializing in Communications, Public Relations or Marketing & Media or other related fields of study.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Updating and maintaining our employee intranet news pages daily.
• Creating content and enhancing employee intranet site.
• Writing, photography, videography using hand-held camera, and layout/design support for employee communication vehicles.
• Photo and video editing
• Planning, organization, and delivery of employee and community events

Preference may be given to the candidate who has the following skills and qualifications:

• Strong public speaker (Tourism experience is an asset)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Event planning experience.
• Excellent proficiency with PowerPoint (Other Creative Suite experience is an asset)
• Desktop publishing techniques.
• Photography and videography skills.
• Ability to multi-task and manage deadlines.
• Leadership experience.
• Organizational understanding.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

All students must:

Be currently enrolled as a full-time, post-secondary student in a recognized institution.

Have completed a minimum of 1st year in college OR an undergraduate program at university by the start of the opportunity.

Have a minimum average of 70% cumulative GPA.

Be returning to full-time studies in the same program following the completion of the work term OR require the work term or co-op placement to graduate.
