Year of study: Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program related to emergency management.
Location: Pinawa, MB (Whiteshell)Under the direction of the Whiteshell (WL) Manager of Emergency Management, the Emergency Management Student is responsible for providing direct support in the implementation of the Emergency Management (EM) program at WL in accordance with CNSC and AECL standards, regulations and policies. • Assisting in the development and/or review of EM program documentation, including facility emergency preparedness procedures, emergency plans, hazard and risk analysis.
• Assisting in the development, implementation and evaluation of emergency exercises.
• Creating After Action Reports and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
• Supporting routine program functions requiring subject matter expertise associated with EM.
• Completing inspections, inventories, maintenance and testing of all components related to the EM program.
• Providing support to ensure on-site compliance against CNL EM Program requirements.
• Participating in various reviews, audits, self-assessments, and inspections.
• Supporting program training for emergency personnel.
• Interacting with regulatory agencies (CNSC, Transport Canada, etc.) as required.
• Supporting and participating in activities relating to the Whiteshell Emergency Operations Centre (EOC).
• Completing any additional duties and tasks as required by the Manager.

Experience

• Familiar with the Microsoft Office suite of software programs.
• Experience related to emergency management or emergency response an asset.

Education

• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program related to emergency management.
• Completion of training related to Incident Command System/Incident Management System and Emergency Operations Centre an asset.
• Training or certification related to emergency management exercise design an asset.

Security clearance eligibility required: Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of three (3) years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United States and/or the United Kingdom.
