Is this role right for you?

The Compliance Summer Internship is an exciting opportunity to join the Dublin based Compliance team of a Canadian Bank for 10 weeks during Summer 2023. This programme is rotational and will provide the opportunity to gain a varied experience in the different areas within the Compliance division in an Investment Bank.
This internship will allow you to deepen your understanding of how an Investments Bank\xe2\x80\x99s Compliance function works, and learn what it takes to be a trusted business partner. The Compliance team focuses on:

  • Regulatory relations with Central Bank of Ireland
  • Interpretation and analysis of new regulatory requirements
  • Compliance advice and guidance to business areas (e.g. Capital Markets, Corporate Banking)
  • Compliance risk assessment of business areas
  • Development of Compliance Policies and Training
  • Compliance monitoring and testing reviews
  • Reporting to local and parent Bank Committees and Boards

What will my responsibilities look like?

  • Assist with preparing the Compliance reporting packs for various Committees in Dublin
  • Working with the SMEs, assist various tasks on Compliance Advisory, Regulatory Relations, Monitoring and Testing and Regulatory Change
  • Assist the Compliance team with analysis of new and changing regulations and preparation of impact assessments for discussion with business colleagues
  • Assist the Compliance Monitoring and testing team in undertaking reviews of the Banks\xe2\x80\x99s processes from a regulatory compliance perspective
  • Assist in the preparation of training material and presentations, working with Compliance and business SMEs

Do you have the skills and requirements that will enable you to succeed in this role? We\xe2\x80\x99d love to work with you if you:
  • Are a penultimate year undergraduate student studying a relevant degree (e.g, Business Management, Economics, Law, Finance and Accounting etc.)
  • Have a basic understanding of banking and compliance
  • Have an analytical mindset with a passion for critical thinking and working collaboratively
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills and are looking to work as part of a diverse and inclusive team
