Work Arrangement:

Onsite: The position requires an employee to be on-site on a full-time to basis. You will be primarily based at Markham campus but will commute to Oshawa campus on a need basis.

The Software Test Specialist is an important member of our SDV Infotainment software group at GM Canada, which is part of the larger GM Global Engineering team! The Co-Op student will be responsible for in-vehicle testing of Infotainment Applications developed at CTC. Also, the student is responsible for preparing and maintaining Infotainment team\'s fleet of test vehicles. You will work with closely with various android application development teams for designing, implementing, performing, and maintaining test plans/test cases for in-vehicle and bench testing. Additionally, you will review requirement specifications, design documents to better understand the features, and make the efficient design of suitable test cases. Furthermore, you design and develop the test automation tools and scripts for better efficiency, and test coverage! This role will work closely with software development teams, requirement teams, and program managers during the entire product life-cycle.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform in-vehicle testing of the Infotainment Applications.

Prepare and maintain fleet of test vehicles for in-vehicle testing of the Infotainment Applications

Design detailed test cases based on requirements and test plan

Design and develop test tools and test scripts to automate the testing, including test cases and test work flow

Setup and configure vital test equipment and environments for test execution and automation (test environments may include simulation or target hardware)

Perform the software testing on our Infotainment system based on the test plan and program schedule

Additional

Required Qualifications:

Pursuit of a Bachelor\'s (4th year preferred but will consider 2nd and 3rd years) or Master\'s degree in one of the following areas: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science

Able to work fulltime, 40 hours per week in Canada and for 12-month term (3 consecutive semesters) starting September 2023

Related Co-Op, or work experience and extra-curricular activities with strong grades (please attach transcript to application)

Have a valid Class G Ontario Driver\xe2\x80\x99s Licence, or equivalent out-of-province licence

Knowledge of software development and testing process

What will give you a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

Programming skills in common languages such as Python and Java

Embedded software development experience

Android application development and testing experience

Prior experience in diagnostics

Experience with programs such as Vehicle Spy
