ENGLISH AND SOCIAL STUDIES TEACHER

Full time position (4 blocks or 1.0 FTE)

West Vancouver Secondary School

Effective immediately until June 30th, 2023

Required Qualifications and Experience

A full time English and Social Studies teaching position is available at West Vancouver Secondary School. The successful candidate must demonstrate the following:

Appropriate qualifications and experience in teaching English and Social Studies

Post-secondary coursework and/or ELL instructional certification considered an asset

Hold a valid BC Teaching certificate

Commitment to and demonstrated experience using and integrating technology with the curriculum.

Knowledge of the Ministry of Education Core Competencies, Big Ideas, and Learning Standards for the appropriate curricular area

An ability to use a variety of teaching and learning strategies that can accommodate the learning needs of all types of learners.

A proven ability to develop a positive learning environment in the classroom and evidence of strong organization and classroom management skills.

A commitment to and successful experience working collaboratively in a team setting.
