If you answered yes to the previous questions, we want to hear from you. Abstract is looking for a competent 1st or 2nd year apprentice to work on our multifamily residential projects in the Greater Victoria/Langford area. You will work on site closely with the Site Foreman, as well as the Site Superintendent to complete a wide variety of construction related tasks. You must be able to show up on time, ready to work, 5 days a week. The ideal candidate would have their own transportation or be able to be at work for 7:00a.m. start time. Knowledge of safe work procedures is key, safety is our top priority.


Responsibilities

Provide carpentry services (framing and finish) at an Apprentice level. Read, interpret, and work from blueprints, drawings, sketches, and other specifications on a variety of structures related to the construction project. Work with sub-trades in completing all projects. Maintain a professional relationship with clients. Complete required administrative duties. Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes using measuring tools. Uphold our brand pillars in all aspects of daily work.

Requirements



Proven experience as a 1st or 2nd year apprentice Able to work as a team Very good knowledge of English (spoken and written) Excellent balance and eye-hand coordination High school diploma or equivalent OFA 1 or 2 would be an asset Demonstrated experience in residential framing, finishing and general carpentry, and concrete formwork. Ideally holds a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation to get to our sites in the Greater Victoria area.
