Reporting to the Commercial/Institutional Program Manager, the On-Site Energy Manager will be responsible for identifying energy efficiency measures and opportunities for a variety of commercial, institutional, agricultural and industrial clients and prepare business cases for approval. The On-Site Energy Manager will work with the client Energy teams, Sponsors (management) and operations, engineering and other departments with energy management/use responsibility.


Duties will include but are not limited to:




Develop and implement energy management programs and/or energy savings projects for individual clients; Allocate resources for the completion of projects and their timely delivery; Complete technical audits, recommend energy efficiency technologies, prepare feasibility studies and business cases for approval recommend projects and measures; Coordinate and administer project documentation, incentive applications, project development agreements, reports, and incentive applications; Determine external project resources and preferred suppliers to assist direct activities related to project proposals and implementation; i.e. suppliers, consultants, technical specifications and costing; Provide monthly status reports; Support project implementation for the assigned organization; Quarterly final reports and presentations to senior management outlining project status, energy management opportunities, and achievements to date; Develop and track against an energy baseline and profile for the assigned organization; Evaluate and monitor utility usage and trends for reporting and identification of energy efficiency opportunities; Prepare reports & presentations; Manage and direct project assignments including project scope, deliverables, timelines, communications and reporting; Provide project coordination support, measurement and verification of energy and operational savings for approved projects; Perform other duties and assist with special projects/initiatives as required.

Minimum Qualifications:




Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (electrical, mechanical) or a post-secondary diploma in Engineering Technology with extensive experience in project delivery/management, including planning, designing and executing projects; Certified Energy Manager (CEM) designation is required; Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a diverse group of individuals at all organizational levels, both inside and outside of the organization; Competent Microsoft Office user (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook); Should have a working knowledge of project management, planning, designing and executing projects; Must have strong computer skills in Microsoft Excel, and be a competent Microsoft Office user; Demonstrated above average attention to detail, with strong problem-solving skills is required; Must be comfortable with technical matters with strong analytical and data analysis skills; Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality, diplomacy, and discretion is required; Ability to work in a fast-paced and results orientated environment; Excellent oral and written communication skills; Excellent time management skills in order to meet deadlines in a multi-task environment; Must possess risk assessment and management skills; and the ability to learn quickly and work independently; A good previous work and attendance record; Must provide a current and recent Criminal Records Check, prior to employment; Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record; Demonstrated experience with energy efficiency and/or sustainability initiatives/programs would be considered an asset; Additional relevant education and experience will be considered an asset.

Preference will be given to Employees of the unclassified Division as per the UPSE Civil Collective Agreement
