16 York Street - Team Lead Security Guard - Days
Position: Team Lead Security Guard Site: Cadillac Fairview- 16 York Street (Maple Leaf Square) City: Downtown Toronto, ON Status: Full-Time - Days Hours: Static Continental Days: Monday- Sunday (07:00-19:00) Pay Rate: $19.19 /hr.
Mandatory 4 days of virtual and in-class training at our Etobicoke office.
Job Description: Security guards maintain a highly visible and reassuring presence through their assigned patrol and post duties. Security guards are the eyes and ears of the Property and they take steps to ensure that Manager\xe2\x80\x99s rules and standards for the Property are maintained. By their presence, they act as a deterrent to crime and undesired activity and help to maintain a visibly safe and welcoming environment at the Property.
Job Duties:

• Manage daily site operations as directed.
• Manage and Lead a team of 1-3 guards
• Manage and lead special events and special coverages as assigned
• Assist the Site Director and Management with assigned tasks
• Assist with daily supervision of team/staff
• Lead a team of 1-4 other guards
• Assist with training, coaching, and team members as directed by Site Director and CSM.
• Report any occurrences, incidents, and daily logs to Supervisor / Site Director/ SCM
• Providing exceptional service to enhance customer experience
• Ensuring compliance with the standards, rules, and regulations at the Property
• Be proactive in helping everyone have an outstanding customer experience at the Property
• Perform highly visible patrols of assigned patrol areas/zones (by foot), and positively engage with tenants, guests, visitors, and employees on an ongoing basis
• Approach guests or visitors at directory boards, within building lobbies, and elsewhere to offer directions or general assistance;
• Work closely with Manager\xe2\x80\x99s other departments at the Property, especially the guest services and tenant services departments, to provide customer service support to tenants, guests, visitors, and employees;
• Maintain strong knowledge of activities and special events at the Property and assist visitors and guests during their visit to the Property;
• Assist visitors, guests, and tenants\xe2\x80\x99 employees with specific problems, such as safety concerns, requests for directions, escorts, assistance with packages, misplaced vehicles, etc.;
• Protect the Property and maintain a safe and welcoming environment
• Enforce the rules and regulations at the Property in a fair and responsible manner
• Report and follow up on hazards and/or deficiencies identified during duty
• Observe and report criminal activity to the police and assist the police upon their arrival and during their attendance at the Property
• Assist tenants/merchants respond to crimes that have occurred at the Property and ensure appropriate law enforcement authorities are summoned
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide First Aid, CPR, or AED support as necessary until medical professionals arrive
• Prepare written reports using the Manager\xe2\x80\x99s standard report-writing program
• Deal with trespassers and unauthorized persons found on the Property in a fair and safe manner
• Remain prepared to respond to crime, disturbances, and emergencies as per training and procedure
• Facilitate access to restricted areas for authorized persons; and
• Control vehicle traffic on the Property
• Normal physical activity characterized by extended periods of walking and standing, periodic sitting, kneeling, bending, and use of basic motor skills
• Regular keyboarding and record keeping in written logs required
• Close and secure doors to prevent heat loss during colder seasons
• Shut off excess lighting where suitable to assist in the reduction of power consumption
• Access control

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• Valid First Aid and CPR Level - C certification - Issue by a WSIB-approved provider*
• Covid-19 - Fully Vaccinated (Min 2 doses)
• Must have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience working in Security or equivalent
• Team Lead experience is considered an asset.
• Basic computer (keyboarding) skills are required;
• Knowledge of applicable federal, provincial and municipal legislation and regulations required

• Previous experience working as a security guard

At the time of the interview applicant must be able to produce proof of completion of the following prerequisites:

• A Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• First Aid & CPR \xe2\x80\x93 Level C (WSIB Approved Provider)
• Proficient in English (both oral and written)
• Vulnerable Sector Check
• Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (2 dose min)
