We are currently accepting resumes for experienced and qualified Masters, for the company's Autonomous Surface Vessel the ASV Viper.

Responsibilities:



Responsible for the safe operation of the vessel as well as the safety of the crew and clients The implementation of company specific policies and management system requirements Managing the crew in a clear and concise manner to create strong teams and monitor performance, including the supervision and training of deck crew Ensuring shipboard operations are carried out in a safe, environmentally sound and efficient manner in accordance with applicable laws, standards and regulations, Ensuring planned maintenance programs are implemented and executed Reporting accidents/incidents, hazardous situations and nonconformities Ensuring emergency equipment is maintained, emergency procedures up to date, and emergency drills are conducted Responsible for preparation and/or submission of logbooks, daily records, maintenance records and permits in accordance with Company and regulatory requirements Ensuring that all documents and records relevant to the QHSE System are maintained in accordance with established procedures Having a clear understanding of pollution regulations and the company objectives regarding environmental protection Performing such other duties as may be required by Leeway Management

Position Specific Responsibilities:



Command and operate crewed and uncrewed vessels in compliance with Canadian maritime regulations Monitor and control ASV missions, both onshore and offshore, ensuring safety and mission success Collaborate with project teams, clients and remote operators to support marine operations Conduct pre and post-mission checks, maintenance and reporting Support mobilization and demobilization of marine equipment and survey systems Maintain accurate logbooks, safety documentation and compliance records Lead or support emergency response procedures as needed

Requirements:



High School Diploma or Equivalent 150T Master or higher certificate of competency issued by Transport Canada Experience in operating small commercial vessels and or ASVs Strong understanding of navigation, marine regulations and electronic chart systems MEDs with respect to STCW Valid and Unlimited Transport Canada Marine Medical Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills Experience with Microsoft Suite an asset Proven track record of relevant offshore experience in the marine sector Ability to read, write, and understand English

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 3 months

Pay: $30.00-$50.00 per hour
