Job Summary:



The Administrative Assistant (Accounting) will perform a variety of administrative duties in support of the Accounting department.



Reports to: Finance Manager



Key Duties and Responsibilities:


Distributes email communications and other materials, and coordinates the flow of information internally with other departments and with external organizations Schedules and confirms in-person and/or virtual appointments/meetings Orders office supplies and maintains inventory Answers telephone calls and emails; relays messages to the team Performs banking as required Handles administrative duties including correspondence, photocopying, scanning, filing, composing, recording, and archiving Records and prepares minutes of meetings Maintains and updates records (e.g. company credit cards log, bank signing authorities, etc.) Assists with annual external audit Assists on projects and assignments and other related duties as assigned by the Finance Manager




Education, Training and Experience:


Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent education qualification Minimum 1-2 years of administrative experience, preferably in a related field Administrative certificate or equivalent certification is an asset




Job Skills and Abilities:


Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent technical skills in MS Office and web-based applications Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills Excellent time management skills Ability to take initiative Ability to work independently and cooperatively as a team member Ability to work under time constraints and meet deadlines Ability to plan, organize and manage work with minimal supervision Ability to effectively prioritize work and concurrent tasks
