Role:

Our client is currently seeking an experienced #101149 IT Project Manager (Contract) starting on or around November 2022 for a 12-month contract with possibility of extension at client's discretion. The work may be completed remotely but the resource must reside in Canada for the duration of the project. The ideal candidate will have 8 years IT Project Management experience providing governance, ensuring business objectives/data integrity, development of recommendations, and building strong stakeholder relationships. Previous experience managing large application integration projects (with 5+ team members) is required. Experience conducting, facilitating, and interpreting impact and risk assessment would be an asset. All candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

General Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the coordination and completion of IT projects. Oversees all aspects of projects.
  • Compile project charters and business/project plans to ensure business objectives/data integrity
  • Assist with the development of recommendations ie resource requirements, interdependencies, policy implications and the methodology to be applied.
  • Manage multiple projects, project resources and project governance.
  • Work with project sponsors to ensure effective project communication
  • Document and report project status against established objectives, milestones, budget, and resources and facilitate tracking and closure of issues and risks.
  • Provide guidance to project resources in establishing work priorities and prompt delivery of project tasks.
Mandatory (Must have):
  • 8 years' experience working as a Project Manager on a large software application development project in an enterprise size environment.
  • 8 years' experience managing multiple projects concurrently.
  • 8 years' experience defining project vision, scope, and goals in collaboration with business stakeholders.
  • 8 years' experience developing project deliverables including project charters, business cases, briefing notes, status reports, risk logs and project closures.
  • 8 years' experience managing application integration projects with at least 5 team members.
  • 8 years' experience successfully implementing IT solutions in an environment with project resources from across multiple teams or organizations.
Desirable (Nice to have):
  • 7 years' experience developing and maintaining positive stakeholder relationships across and outside the organization, including executive level.
  • 5 years' experience leading project governance, change management and communication activities.
  • 5 years' experience developing and maintaining positive stakeholder relationships across the organization, including executive level.
  • 5 years' experience working in or for the public sector.
  • 4 years' experience working with Mandated and Legislated Projects within short timelines.
  • 4 years' experience making decisions and recommendations on highly technical or complex business issues and without formal guidelines or precedents and exercises resourcefulness.
  • 2 years' experience with the complexities of Federal/Provincial jurisdiction.
  • 4 years' experience working the technical teams on complex IMT projects.
  • 4 years' experience conducting, facilitating, and interpreting impact and risk assessments.
  • 4 years' experience creating and managing project forecasts and budgets.
  • Currently active PMP or PGMP Certification would be a great asset.
  • 2 years' experience working with the delivery of Mobile Wireless (Cellular) Services Transformation projects is highly desirable.
Education (Must Have one of the following combinations):
  • Degree in business, management, or related discipline & 4-yr Project Management (PM) experience; OR 2-yr diploma & 6-yr PM experience; OR 1-yr certificate & 7-yr PM experience. OR 8-yr PM experience.
