As soon as possible to June 26, 2026 or return of the teacher


enrols approximately 275 students in kindergarten through grade 12, of which 53% are of Indigenous ancestry. Desert Sands Community School is located in thewhich lies on the unceded and traditional territory of the Secwepemc and Nlaka'pamux First Peoples. The school'sguides the work of the school.


REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful applicant must have, or be eligible for, certification to teach in British Columbia and possess:


Qualifications and/or successful teaching experience in the area/grade level posted; Knowledge of the BC curriculum and competencies; Successful experience integrating local Indigenous culture and traditions into curriculum, or familiarity with and understanding of local Indigenous culture and commitment to integrate it into the curriculum; The ability to use a variety of teaching and learning strategies to accommodate the learning needs of all students; Strong assessment practices, including assessment as and for learning; Successful experience integrating experiential and/or inquiry learning opportunities into the curriculum; A proven ability to develop a positive learning environment in the classroom and evidence of strong organization and classroom management skills; A commitment to and successful experience working collaboratively in a team setting; A commitment to and demonstrated experience using and integrating technology into the curriculum; The ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and the greater community. Successful experience integrating experiential and/or inquiry learning opportunities into the curriculum.

The salary range for full-time teaching positions within Gold Trail School District is $60,076 to $109, 520 with placement in accordance with provisions in the Collective Agreement. The district offers a competitive benefits and pension package.
